St Catherine's College pupils are Cyber-First Girls Competition Champions


St. Catherine’s College pupils were crowned cyber-security champions in the final round of a nationwide contest to uncover more of the nation’s cyber talent (L - R) Lexie McDermott, Aalia Donnelly, Holly Horner and Eimear Donnelly are in Year 9. Year Nine St Catherine’s Female Cyber Technologists battled it out in the Northern Ireland final of the UK CyberFirst Girls Competition at the Titanic Hotel in Belfast. This is the UK’s flagship cybersecurity competition for schools, supported by @AllstateNI.


Established by the National Cyber Security Centre, which is a part of GCHQ, ten teams of Year Nine girls from schools across the region took part in the Northern Ireland final at the Titanic Hotel, Belfast.



The girls were treated to a celebration at the CyberFirst Girls Competition Awards Dinner in the National Science & Media Museum, Bradford! The girls had the pleasure of meeting Jane Frankland, pictured above with the winning team from St Catherine’s.
