Saint Catherine’s College Senior Prizegiving

Saint Catherine’s College held its annual senior prizegiving to celebrate the completion of significant academic milestones by students. Guest speaker for the event was Professor David Jones, an expert in Pharmaceutical and Biomaterial Engineering and former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Queen’s University. Professor Jones delivered an inspiring and personal address and encouraged the pupils to be ambitious for themselves.


Principal, Mrs Noeleen Tiffney, paid tribute to pupils on achieving such excellent results. She thanked parents and governors for their support and praised teachers for their part in pupils’ success. The evening celebrated excellent results at A-level and GCSE, most notably that 43% of all grades at A-level were at A*/A and 100% of pupils achieved 5 GCSEs at A*-C. Many other achievements were also acknowledged with a full range of pastoral awards being presented as well as those for academic success.

Pictured with Professor David Jones is Aaliyah McClave who will now study Pharmacy at Queen’s. Aaliyah achieved 3 A* grades in A-Level Chemistry, Maths and Biology and won The Croft Cup for Science, The Hanna Cup for Mathematics and The Kingston Cup for best A-Level results.
