Saint Catherine’s College show-jumpers have enjoyed competing in the TRI Equestrian Inter School League on alternate Saturdays from September to December with teams being in the top six placings most weeks.
Saturday the 4th of December saw the teams compete in the elite TRI Equestrian Schools’ League final. Results announced this week revealed that the dedicated and talented 85cm Team came 6th out of 18 teams from right across Ulster.
The 1m Team also soared onto the leader board as well. They came 5th in the entire Winter League: their placing was based on the team’s performance across six competitions.

There will be a presentation evening in January when prizes for the top 6 teams in each category are awarded which the girls and their show-jumping mentor Mrs Siobhan Black are thrilled about: “This is like the Premier League of soccer - it is such an achievement for these pupils. Their dedication, talent and care for their animals is to be commended. It has taken a lot of practice, early mornings and a few falls - but this is a rich reward!”
The girls from each of the teams have received Team Jackets and saddle cloths as recognition for their outstanding commitment and effort.
